Hello! I am so pleased to be the new Parent Outreach Specialist for NAGC. Foremost, I am a working mom to a gifted, nine-year-old girl and a twice-exceptional, five-year-old boy. I share your experiences in real-time. I look forward to sharing in the joys and struggles of parenting with you. For more than ten years, I have learned from the resources provided by NAGC. In the past two years, I have had the privilege of presenting on issues of social-emotional development and the lived experience of giftedness at NAGC and was keynote at the 2010 International Dabrowski Conference.
In addition to serving as the Parent Outreach Specialist at NAGC, I work as an adjunct lecturer in the Dial Center for Written and Oral Communication at the University of Florida. From 2006 to 2010, I was Co-Director of Debate & Lecturer at Appalachian State University, where I co-directed a nationally awarded debate team. I have taught at the high school, college, and university levels. I earned a B.A. (’00) and M.A. (’01) at Arkansas State University in Speech Communication & Theatre Arts, with a minor in general business.
